I don’t care about your world view. Firenze is the center of the universe.
The Renaissance proves it.
David. The Uffizzi. The Ponte Vecchio. They prove it.
Vin Santo. Chianti. Brunello. Vino Nobile. They prove it. (More than is necessary some time.)
Sienna. Pisa. San Gimignano. Lucca. They prove it.
After New York, tell me steak named after a city. That proves it.
Roberto Cavalli and Salvatore Ferragamo dressed the world from here. That proves it.

There can be no debate. If you haven’t been. Collect the spare change between the sofa cushions, drop your cable service for a couple of months, start a GoFundMe, and put a week on your calendar when you plan to be away (but don’t do it during August).
Hotels are plentiful. You will need to take a connecting flight into the City, or a train.
The historic city center has no hills. Good restaurants are abundant. You can get by on a budget, unlike some other cities. And, other famous historic cities are a short train or bus ride away.
Quite clearly, Firenze is famous for its art, and it is rich in history. Unlike northern cities, there was no Savoy Empire or Napoleon to claim any highlights here. It does not share the vastness of Roma or Milano. The sciences were anchored under Galileo Galilei, and Brunelleschi’s name will stick to your tongue after you lay sight of the Duomo. And, why not tour of the home of Dante or step into the Ferragamo museum?
You will likely find that one visit in your life may not be enough.
And, I will give you a tip where to find some of the best intimates in the universe to wrap your soul.

SERIOUS NOTE: DUE TO THE VOLUME OF TOURISM, BE VERY VERY CAUTIOUS WHEN LOOKING UP WEBSITES FOR ANY BUSINESS. HOTELS AS WELL AS GOVERNMENT WEBSITES ARE KNOWN TO HAVE THEIR WWW ADDRESSES COMPROMISED. USE COMMON SENSE AND PATIENCE WHEN ENGAGING WEBSITES.
